Policy Advisory Committee

The Policy Advisor Commitee, or PAC, consists of transportation partners from both governmental and non-governmental agencies working together to guide the development of the California Tranportation Plan 2035 (CTP 2035) - an update of the State's long-range transportation policy plan. A list of committee members (updated as of November 4, 2009) and a list of committee coordinators are available for viewing.

In accordance with the PAC Roles and Responsibilities Guidelines the Committee will serve in an advisiory capacity for the development of the CTP 2035. The PAC will ensure that California's Statewide Transportation Plan is comprehensive while considering the mobility and accessibility of all transportation users.

Many members of the PAC participated in the recently completed 2007 Addendum to the CTP 2025 to comply with the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act - A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). In addition to integrating the SAFETEA-LU Addendum into the existing plan, this comprehensive update will:
  1. Address trends and challenges for a 2035-planning horizon;

  2. Implement consideration of environmental issues early in transportation planning; and

  3. Integrate bicycling and walking to support multimodal mobility and access for all travelers.

A final draft document for California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency will be submitted for approval in August 2010.
